Free Educational Hearing Care “Lunch & Learn” Seminar:

“Sound Voids™ – Those Moments Lacking Clarity in Hearing or Understanding”

The seventh in a series of monthly educational seminars will be presented by local Doctor of Audiology Crystal Chalmers, Au.D., on Wednesday, February 8th  from 12 Noon till 1:00 pm.

“The purpose of these seminars is to provide answers about hearing care issues in a professional, yet casual setting,” said Dr. Chalmers, owner of North State Audiological Services in Chico. This month’s topic:  SoundVoids™ —

Those Moments Lacking Clarity in Hearing or Understanding

“Contrary to common misperception, hearing loss is not always an all-or-nothing occurrence,” said Dr. Chalmers.   “Oftentimes a person’s hearing difficulties stem from missing or mistaking a single word or phrase.  The trademarked term ‘SoundVoids’ was created by AudigyCertified™ professionals to describe these instances that cause many people to ask what was said to be repeated or –  and worse – to misunderstand what was said.”

“SoundVoids can be caused by a number of factors and are treatable by several methods including professional communication consultation, as well as technology solutions,” said Dr. Chalmers. “But the first course of action is to learn about how to recognize these moments.  This seminar will provide those answers.”

The seminar will be held at Dr. Chalmers’ office at 15 Jan Court, off of Forest Avenue in southeast Chico near the Raley’s Skypark Plaza shopping center
