About Us

North State Audiology Team
Our Mission
Our mission is to change people’s lives for the better … through better hearing.

What is Audiology?
Audiology is the science of hearing and includes the evaluation of hearing defects and the rehabilitation of those ho have such defects. An Audiologist is the health care professional who is educated and trained to recognize, evaluate, and treat hearing, balance, and related disorders. As of 2007, the minimum educational requirement for an audiologist is a doctorate in audiology. At present there are only about 15,000 audiologists in the United States.

Why is Hearing Healthcare Important to You?
55 million Americans – 1 out of every 5 people – have some form of hearing loss. And contrary to popular misconception, hearing loss can affect people of all ages. That is because in most cases hearing loss is caused by repeated exposure to harmful noise levels. Damaged hearing can have a profound impact on people’s lives, negatively affecting their ability to communicate. Signs of hearing loss can include, but are not limited to, poor performance at work or school; a lack of interest in social activities; or irritability towards a spouse of friends. If you or someone you know suffers from hearing loss, you or they should seek help from an AudigyCertified practice… Because hearing is a wonderful gift
